    About: The Autonomous Control Engineering (ACE) Laboratory is part of the College of Engineering at University of Texas at San Antonio . This department is active in undergraduate engineering and graduate research, as well as partnerships with local businesses, other universities, and government agencies. ACE Laboratory currently is hosting the following teams: Renewable Energy, Autonomous Water Vehicle, Unmanned Aerial Systems / UAV Competition and the Cloud computing.

  • Wireless Next Generation Systems Lab (WiNGS)

    About: The Wireless Next Generation System (WiNGS) Lab at the University of Texas at San Antonio aims to perform research on the use of advanced 4G wireless communications in cyber physical systems, pervasive systems, and sustainable power systems. The lab investigates communication between people and systems. WiNGS also develops optimization algorithms, analysis, and integrated models of wireless systems and networks with sensors that incorporate autonomous closed loop control optimization known as cyber physical systems.

  • The Speech Perception and Auditory Cognition Laboratory (SPAC)

    About: SPAC conducts basic scientific research to test theories of how the mind processes information mainly through experiments in which participants give simple responses to stimuli that are presented via computer. Research in the SPeAC Lab focuses on a variety of fundamental questions about cognition, such as: How does the mind categorize auditory and visual information, including speech sounds? How does the mind combine information from more than one source? How are perception and memory influenced by contextual information?

  • Mechanical Systems Laboratory

    About: The Mechanical Systems Laboratory researches dynamic systems and control. Also, educational activities for undergraduate/graduate students are performed aiming at various mechanical systems’ modeling and design of control problems. The systems being studied include hypersonic aircraft, aerial robots, and satellites.
